My best friend is going to be on the left coast and I'm not going to get to see him.
That is... unless someone has $300 (give or take) they want to let me borrow. (Or a bunch of frequent flyer miles.)

I'm not exactly surprised about the spendy plane ticket, I checked it out a month ago when I found out he was going to Orange County and it was just as spendy then. I was just hoping that there might have been some cheap last minute flights. But there were non. Oh well.

It really sucks. We were going to go to Disney Land and go to Newport and recreate scenes from "The OC" but instead I'll be at work and he'll probably get drunk in the hotel bar.

And now I have to go shower and go to work. Exciting.

I feel, in an attempt to not sound too sad, that I should let it be known that tomorrow (if the boyfriend isn't working the night shift) we're going to see the new Star Trek. Yes I know it's not exactly new any-more but it's gonna be in the theatre and that's all that matters. Yay!

I am still really sad about not getting to see the Nathan. But I'm pretty freakin' pysched about the movie. Let's just assume that the boyfriend isn't working, cause if he is than that would be double sadness. :-((

Ever get an ear zit?
They are, the worst!!
Granted, I've never given birth or passed a kidney stone but it doesn't matter, because I'm sure those don't even begin to compare to the intolerable pressure cause by the ear zit.

I have an ear zit right now. (Betcha didn't see that one coming.)
It's not ready to let go yet. It's still in the underground phase. The boyfriend has offered on a few occasions to stick me in the ear with a needle in an attempt to rid me of the ear zit. Sweet, huh? I think it's just because he wants to poke me with sharp things or more likely because he's tired of listening to me bitch about how much my ear hurts. Either way, it's not going to happen. I'm not going to rush it, as uncomfortable as it may be.

Now I'm going to go crawl into bed and get a good nights sleep so that I can get up early tomorrow morning and have time to hold multiple mirrors up to my head in an attempt to get the perfect angle and see if the little bastard has shown himself or if he's still hiding deep within my derma like the pussy that he is.

Do any of you know of any good detox diets?

Whether it's a day or a week I don't care. I haven't decided on anything aside from the fact that it can't involve cabbage. (BLECH.)

My concern is that I've developed a pretty substantial coffee habit and I fear I don't have the will power to go wtihout caffeine for more than half a day or so.

Any info would be appreciated!

Why do the men in this house seem to think that I loooooove going to the laundromat to do laundry?* Little T just poked his head in the door and asked if he could play on the computer after he got his room cleaned. I told him no and that we were going to be going to the laundromat in a bit. He looked absolutely puzzled. Apparently he thought I was going to wait until he went to his grandparents and use some of the precious little time I have to myself to do laundry. Sorry, don't think so kid. If I have to go to the laundromat I'm bring someone with me, looks like you drew the short straw! And when he leaves I get to go to work, so much for time to myself.
On a totally, completely unrelated note. Though it's not going to be anytime soon, when I decided to produce my own offspring (so I'll have even MORE laundry to do) I'm totally getting one of these.

They're awesome. They're good from newborn to 35lbs!

* Okay, in all honesty I don't think the boyfriend thinks I loooove doing it but that doesn't mean he's ever gone and done it with/for me. But that's okay because his Dad is getting us a new washer/dryer for his birthday and he (the boyfriend) will be forgiven as soon as that happens and I don't do anyones laundry (except mine) for 2 or 3 months. Hmmm maybe I'll just throw mine in with his then I wont have to do ANY laundry.

Hmmm... What to do today?!?

Dishes. Yesterday was the first time in weeks that the kitchen was clean. There are a few dishes to do then the kitchen will be clean again! It's like Christmas.
Finish and Hang the poster boards for the Token system. Yesterday I got the final one written out now I just need to go over it in marker and presto! it's done.
Call PCC. Actually that's already done. Found out some things I needed to know and now I know them and because I know them I need to...
Print out another Transcript request form from Plymouth and another application from PCC.
Drink coffee. Even though I used the rest of the half n' half in the (lumpy) mashed potatoes last night.
Mail stuff. ie. Transcript Request form and Application.
Call Sister repeatedly until she answers to wish her a HAPPY FREAKIN' 35th BIRTHDAY!!
Feed the kid at some point.
Shower at some point.
Possibly go to Target to get stuff for a New Baby Basket for the neighbors. (It was the boyfriends idea... well kind of. I'd thought of it too but never thought to mention it to him because he doesn't do that sort of thing, anyway, I was impressed.)
Enjoy the day!! It's not even 70 degrees out. I love warm weather but lately it's been pretty fucking hot so this is definitely a nice change.

QotD: Email vs. Telephone

If you had to give up either email or the telephone for the rest of your life, which one would your forgo?

This one is hard.
Over the years I've learned to really appreciate my email accounts.
Granted I am of an age where email is sort of something I grew up with. I was about 16 when I got my first email account but I never used it regularly until I hit my early to mid twenties.
The phone though, I've been yaking away on the phone for as long as I can remember.
Email is so great for some types of communication needs.
But I could live with out it.

I live 3000 miles away from almost everyone I love and care about. I'm okay with that because I LOVE where I live and I can just pick up the phone and call them. And I do. Everyday.
